Installing and Launching Vaisala Software
If you need to install Vaisala software, please follow the steps below carefully. The application must be run from a local Windows account, not a cloud or Microsoft 365 account.
1. Create a Local Administrator Account
Open Settings → Accounts → Other Users.
Click Add account, then choose “I don’t have this person’s sign-in information.”
Select “Add a user without a Microsoft account.”
Enter the username:
Set a secure password.
Ensure the username is all lowercase, or Vaisala will not allow you to log in.
After creation, open Control Panel → User Accounts → Manage another account → Change account type, and set it to Administrator.
If this option is not available to create a local user account go to sign in options and put in a correct account 3 times which will bypass MS365 to allow a local account to be made
2. Sign in as the Local Account
Sign out of your cloud or work account.
Log in using the localaccount credentials created above.
3. Download and Install Vaisala
Open a web browser (while signed into the local account).
Go to the provided Vaisala download link.
Run the installer and follow on-screen prompts.
If prompted for a license key, enter the key provided below:
4. Launch Vaisala
Once installation is complete, open the Vaisala application from the local account (not from a cloud/Microsoft 365 login).
Running it from a cloud account can cause permission or registry issues.
